This is why open source is cool. (Google is cool, too)

Great job, Dmitri!
Working with Drupal and other open source projects has introduced me to some really brilliant and wonderful people. That's the part of contributing that has been the most worthwhile.

Great!

Drupal as I understand it, awesome Dmitri.

Good Job Dmitri! Thanks for being willing to teach us older folks.
Is this for real?
Leslie said that aliens can be immediately recognized because they wear two little antennas on their forehead and Dmitri has none. I am still not convinced, really. :)
I was in a session at BAD
I was in a session at BAD Camp last year where Dmitri gave a quick and unrehearsed presentation on how to submit patches. The audience members were probably all over 25 years old, and more then a few gray hairs like myself. After the session I was marveling about this young prodigy, but I was also struck by something else. People in the audience were paying attention. This wasn’t a parlor trick, the audience was genuinely interested in what Dmitri had to say.
I think this says something significant about the Drupal community, and quite possibly something significant about learning and the future of education. One of the first things I learned about Drupal was the quality of its developers and their ability to self-organize and learn from each other. In a meritocracy those with something worth saying are given a venue to share, and those with life-long learning skills are appreciative for the chance to listen. Cheers to young Dmitri and his very bright future, and cheers to those people who know that learning can come from many sources and keep their minds open.
