Some things are very obvious once you see them. These are just two examples but there are many more to be found on YouTube and the likes. Many of the qualities of intelligence, comprehension, ability and awareness that humans often credit humans as having monopoly rights on are actually abundant throughout the animal kingdom. It is only the barrier of communication and interspecific understanding that hides these facts and prevents us from interacting with animals as peers, of a sort.

Did I mention that I think we should stop killing and enslaving animals the way we do? I'm guilty of a leather bag and shoes, but I'm very happy with my recent decision to return to a vegetarian diet (no meat... though I've not stopped eating fish. I know, they're animals too)

The Ibis in Bonn will be the site of our next meeting. We have a conference room with tables, chairs and a screen (but no projector). There is a bar with drinks and snacks in the hotel, and a fantastic pizza restaurant across the street.

Meetup location: Ibis Hotel, Bonn

Here is a very well written article that explores the difference between prostitution and pornography, and asks why one is legal and the other is not.

http://www.cnn.com/2005/LAW/08/12/colb.pornography/index.html

Consider again the significance of the sexual act: legal consequences can follow from it and it can, accordingly, be regulated by the law in a variety of ways. Though two people may very much want to have sex with each other in private, the law can intervene to say that they cannot, just because one of them seeks money and the other gratification, for example.

If, however, both members of the couple are in it for the money, and there is a man with a camera taping them, then the sex is insulated by the Constitution from legal regulation.

Jerad Bitner and Dave Burns, both of whom are Drupal developers for SonyBMG, recently launched a new site, DrupalMAO. It is a site modeled in part on Diggnation, with a focus on Drupal. Their first pilot was released back in February. Recently the Dave and Jerad were busy at Drupalcon Boston filming and doing interviews. They interviewed me on the last day I was there in the middle of the MIT code sprint. I talk about the future of Acquia’s training and certification programs, and what Acquia’s entry into these markets might mean for companies like Lullabot. I also specifically call out for people to share their thoughts and wishes concerning training and certification. Feel free to share these thoughts with me in comments here, via my contact form, or through the Acquia website.

The Köln / Bonn Drupal users group is in the process of deciding where to hold our regular meetings. After having four ad-hoc meetings in three different locations, the need to nail something down and say “This is where we meet!” has become acute. While everybody has suggestions, nobody has a room to offer that is big enough for our current and future needs which can be had for the perfect price (free). What is a local users group to do?
